Changed to a Spectral Oscillator because Clavia's synch produce annoying aliasing. The Spectral Oscillator from Clavia is a DSF oscillator i.e. a Discrete Summation Function oscillator. In brief, it produce a signal without any aliasing! Its pitch is controlled thanks to a an automatic legato system and a vibrato that is activated only if you use the modulation wheel. The vibrato is delayed with a dedicated ADSR. The amplitude variations depend on the note on velocity. Notice that the ADSR is not retriggered if you play legato. The plates of the body of the violin are roughly simulated by a complicated array of delay lines including multiple feedback loops. The values of the delays change the filtering achieved by the whole array. These values are empirical and you may change them at will to obtain the desired tone color. The left and right output are two different mixtures of delay lines outputs. I hope that Clavia will provide us delay lines with less DSP % (that's possible with STATIC delay lines). The delay lines are too short for reverb (because of memory limitations) but short and static delay lines are very usefull for complicated and static filters to model instruments bodies. Kind regards, Dr Thierry Rochebois DSP Activities CANAM Computers 29, rue Jean Moulin 95100 ARGENTEUIL FRANCE [/Notes]
