More rumors of the February 28th Apple event are leaking out.

An Intel Mac mini and an iPod Boombox/Hi-Fi companion product are expected to be released at the Feb 28th event.

Appleinsider claims that the Mac mini has already been sent to manufacturing partners to ramp up for release.


The Intel Mac mini will be sporting this naughty set of extras:

- Front Row 2.0
- "TiVo-Killer" DVR application
- Built-In iPod Dock ( or not.. )
- Possible move to 3.5" hard drive

The Boombox will be priced around $300. It is supposed to have "unique capabilities" and to be "strikingly different". Yeah yeah.. right..

Both "iPod Boombox" and "iPod Hi-Fi" were recently trademarked by Apple in the Hong Kong Trademark office.

It's graet news about the macmini if that is the case- 'cos there are going to be some super cheap G4 macmini bargains to be had

Well I dunno Stein- because I've never bought a Mac new. Mine have always been secondhand. But as a bit of a 'wheeler and dealer' i've consistently noticed that a good time to buy a secondhand PC is when the newer model comes out.

This G4 PB cost me £700- and I bought it just as the 1 gHz model came out. If you look on ebay- just as Apple bring out a new computer product, you will notice that the prices will drop. But only temporarily- as everyone rushes to get the new model

Perhaps you have never noticed this because you have always bought them from new?

Well, sure.. but norwegians are different. Long story..

But there are still some bargains. The mirrordoor dual G4 1.2ghz is still a nice model and I am considering getting more.. just in case.
