[WWW] Spellbound, a brief program of music for theremin

[David Vesel]

Spellbound, a brief program of music for theremin, is perhaps the only regular radio show of its kind in the world. Your host, David Vesel, scours the Internet and the world for new and classic recordings featuring this oldest and exotic of electronic musical instruments.

Sunday nights from 10 PM to Midnight Eastern US time on Cygnus Radio. Click to listen: DSL or cable http://66.139.73.72:8000/cyg1_hi.m3u , or dialup modem http://66.139.73.72:8000/davidv_lf.m3u

There are so many things I could say to describe what's played, and it just escapes me. The theremin turns up in nearly every genre available...classical, jazz, ethnic styles, rock, electronica, avantgarde...you too will be amazed by the music produced by this oldest and most exotic of electronic musical instruments.

If you are a thereminist with recordings available, I really want to hear from you! Please e-mail me at spellbound@purplenote.com so we can discuss arrangements to add your performances to the playlist. (If you message me here, I'll see it eventually, but the e-mail address will be faster.)

Visit the web site at http://spellbound.purplenote.com for links to the dozens of thereminists and bands featured on the program. If you miss the live show, you can also download past episodes in MP3 format for playback at your leisure, or you can get information to plug into your podcast program.

Sincerely yours,
David Vesel
