Help Identifying This Music Subject description: Help identifying an obscure electronic track from the late 1970s / early 1980s
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping that someone here might be able to help me identify a piece of music that I have been trying to find for many years.
I used to hear this track when I was a child, on an audio cassette. I believe the recording dates from the late 1970s or early 1980s, although I cannot be certain.
I have no information about the artist, title, country of origin, or record label. Unfortunately, I don’t remember where the cassette came from either.
What I have done is reconstruct the melody from memory as accurately as I could. I have attached a link below where you can listen to my reconstruction:
https://www.image2url.com/r2/default/audio/1787915952977-f02d1102-7c9f-4714-98d7-80742191e05c.mp3
Please keep in mind that this is only a reconstruction from memory, so the original instrumentation, tempo and sound may have been somewhat different. However, I am quite confident about the main melodic pattern.
The track was, as far as I remember, electronic / synthesizer-based, and I believe it was instrumental or almost entirely instrumental.
I have already tried to identify it through various searches and suggestions, but without success.
If this melody sounds familiar to anyone, or if you have any idea what the track might be, I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions. Even a possible lead, artist, album, country or label would be very helpful.
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen, and for any help you may be able to provide!
I know really nothing about early french electronic music .. so listening up a bit now .. first Jarre (la cage, funny how that is different from his later music), Wakhevitch, de Roubaix ... there is some nice stuff :)
but anyway:
- did you hear it in france? (so that it likely may be french music ..)
- apart from not knowing if there was song .. do you remember other sounds?
- what about the style, pop? classic? early electroncs?
Your mp3 sounds familliar .. or maybe just 'natural' .. like a classical music theme maybe.
