I worked a little on the rss feed programs today. I don't want to totally rewrite them unless necessary. If you have been having difficulty with them, please try them again.
I fixed a couple of errors: - Changed the default character set
- Upgraded to RSS Verson 1.0
Please let me know if there are any problems. _________________ --Howard

Feeds have error characters:

line 121, column 195: description contains bad characters (8 occurrences)

... so feeds can not load. |

Thanks for your input. Do you think it is important for the feeds to contain all of the content of the posts, or just the Titles and Poster's names? The problem is with reformatting all of the messages. I don't use RSS myself, so I need some help with this. There are some RSS programs that work with forums that provide just the basic information. Is there a real need for all of the data? _________________ --Howard

As for me, I use rss feedreader for offline reading and archiving, so I need all posts..
It would be great if rss.php can replace /\\x\d\d/gm with something like "?"..
Or use unicode. |

I'm not familiar with unicode. If I just changed the character set to UTF-8, would that do it? _________________ --Howard

I don't know..
This in my feed report for "Clavia Nord Modular" forum:
WORKING feeds are only:
Nord Modular - G2 Building Blocks
Nord Modular - G2 Performances - Completed
Nord Modular - G2 Performances - Noodles
NOT WORKING feeds:
Nord Modular - Bugs
Nord Modular - NM Classic (NM1 or G1)
Nord Modular - Nord Modular Discussion
Nord Modular - G2 FAQ
Nord Modular - Wish List
Nord Modular - G2 Patches - Completed
Nord Modular - G2 Patches - Experimental
Nord Modular - G2 Performances - Experimental
all "not working" fails with the same error: "There is an invalid character in the given encoding."
Clients used: RSS Bandit 1.3.0.42 , Maxthon 1.5.2(build 21)
RSS links: http://electro-music.com/forum/rss.php?t=1000&f=109 etc. |

I am using an earlier version of the second link which is showing its age.
Please explain what you mean by, "I need topics text".
Do you have any experience with the first link you provided? _________________ --Howard
