I am on a list for the sammichsid kit, unfortunately they are no longer supplying the kit with SID chips. I searched and emailed around, but can't seem to find any. I am now hunting down c64's, the 'newer' model contains the 8580 SID, but even they are becoming rare.

I need two, 8580's or 6582's (not the 6581 found in older model c64's) !

If you could help me with the chips or help me with information on where to get them, I would be very grateful !

Thank you.

Did you build one using the 6581's?

I emailed with Wilba about using 6581's and he told me the design preferred the 'newer' chips. The 6581 require more power and are noisier. I'll keep looking and if I already found a source for the 6581's!

And i will be visiting some flea markets over the next couple of months! Cool
