Injured Steinway

[ocp]

This is a raw recording of an "injured" Steinway grand piano.
It was made back when I worked in a casino as a sound engineer.
The Steinway piano had been lying backstage on it's side since forever.
It was then put in a trolley on stage as the hall was being dismantled and a solution had to be found for the piano.
An expert was called in and the verdict was not a favorable one: the metal frame was cracked, and it was not the first time a repair had been made; too expensive to fix.
So it was decided to dump it in the casino's warehouse.
I grabbed the opportunity and made the possible recordings, of which this is a sample.
Some casino backstage noise is present too.

Here's another clip of some abusive action on the poor piano.
You can hear rocks hitting the bottom of the piano - thrown by fellow musicians - as I hid behind it.
I must highlight the fact that this was a once in a life time opportunity to cannibalize a Steinway piano which was about to be dumped - for all eternity - in a warehouse.
BTW, the cement rocks were all around this hall which was going through serious remodeling.
