A E J O T Z (pronounced "A-jotz") has been my cyber name since I first went online. It's from the progress gauge in Atari's version of Moon Patrol which was incremented: A E J O T Z
I first made electronic music in 1964 when I was ten years old. I used the beat frequency oscillator on a shortwave receiver to make morse code signals from ham operators sound like melodies.
I bought Autobahn, Snowflakes are Dancing, Black Mass (Mort Garson) and the first Synergy album when they came out. I always loved the sound of electronic instruments.
In 1983 I bought a Casio MT-65 and a Cutec 4-track recorder and made a couple of hours worth of multi-tracked electronic music. I was a rock singer / guitarist at the time and bandmates, family and friends did their worst to discourage me from "going electronic."
Now I'm old and I'm sick of the sound of guitars and of derivative music. I return again to noodling around on electronic instruments. My humble equipment list follows:
Casio MT-68, SK-1, VL-1, CT-470, CZ-101
Korg Monotron, MicroKorg
Yamaha PSR-520
Boss BR-600 8-track recorder
The keyboard on the CZ sucks, so I MIDI-d it to the MK and created a KORGIO, running the MK through the right speaker and the CZ through the left. Set to similar sounds, the pairing makes beautiful noise.
I have begun sharing my music at aejotz.com.
My musical diary is at aejotz.blogspot.com but I doubt that it's interesting at this point. I'll move it to aejotz.com when the snow flies and I have time to blog.
I live in the woods south of St. Louis where I love to ride my 2008 Triumph Bonneville on the twisty back roads.
The electro-music.com "radio" is the best thing I've heard in years.
I like melodic multi-line counterpoint electro and the less percussion the better. I generally prefer hand-played to programmed or sequenced. I don't mind a machine-made basic rhythm but I prefer that not all tracks are "too perfect."
I love boingy synthy sounds. When a too-realistic instrument sound is introduced in a synth piece I find it jarring. (I practically never play my Yamaha because most of the sounds are too real.)
I don't enjoy simplistic drum-heavy dance music. I do like ambient space music. And 80s synth-pop was a blast.
I want to mention Tony Banks who made some very nice sounds for Genesis, way back before they became the Phil Collins band. (In those pre-pop-star days, Phil was a superb drummer.)
Blah blah blah. Enough already. _________________ AEJOTZ is pronounced "A-Jotz"

and nice to chat, albeit briefly, on the IRC chat room with you.
Hope to see more of you here.
BTW one of the first "electronic" albums I ever heard was Mort Garson's "The Zodiac", circa 1967 or 68. That, Subotnik's The Wild Bull, and Beaver/Krause Ragnarok were what got me started. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
EGM: What does retro mean to you?
Parker: Like, old and outdated.

Hi AEJOTZ!
Anybody who makes a point of mentioning Tony Banks is alright with me.
Cheers,
