Hello to everyone!

Today I listened to a pair of Event ASP8 and a pair of Dynaudio BM6 A. Well, I can't decide which one to buy!
The Event ASP8 go till 35 Hz, while the Dynaudio BM6 A go till 42 Hz. It's not difficult to hear that there is a diference. The Event sound with more bass, but it is NOT that tight, while the Dynaudio sound more tight in the bass, and in general.
I want to use them for mixing and mastering: Pop, R&B, House, Latino Techno etc.
I don't intend to buy a subwoofer, so, what should I do?
Thank you very much!!!

Please try to reread the Event ASP8 review + full thread again Very Happy
There are some hints in there.

As for the differences, there will be small differences between these models but I suspect you aren´t really hearing what you think you are hearing.. still you are hearing there is a difference..

some comments..

consider the music played

consider the room and the monitor placement

consider that the "bass cutoff" isn´t a true cutoff rather a rolloff

consider that a db or 3 more at some 35 HZ wil easily trigger various room resonances

consider that realistically you will probably not never produce a commercial mastered song with much bass energy below 50 HZ anyway if you are thinking pop/chill

Hello,

I read the review but there the Event ASP8 are compared with Dynaudio BM15 A, (that are more expensive). I felt that the Dynaudio BM6 A sounded a little bit clearer and tight (maybe because they are smaller), but they didn't have that much bass as the other ones.
You have used those Event for almost 2 years now. And you probably know hem very well. Should I get them? Do they translate the mix to other audio systems and Radio and TV nicely?
In the article you said something about their bass and the ports ( about strong volumes, about the clean resonance frequency ). Something that if you do, your mix will sound bad. I didn'd quite understant that passage, because I don't speak english that good. If you could repeat that with other words I would be very greateful to you.
THANK YOU!

I am accessing the internet with an old 9600 modem ( my cell phone) from Cadaques, Spain right now. I will answer this when I get a better connection. Very Happy

Take your time, I am not in a very big hurry.

By the way, I have a new question:
I have an external sound card M-audio Firewire Audiophille, that has unbalanced outputs, and the Event ASP8 have only balanced inputs. Will there be any problems if I choose to get the Events. I don't have any other device like a mixer or anything else, and I really don't want to have any strange noises because of this.

In fact my little studio:

Intel P4
Korg X5D (as midi controler)
M-audio Firewire Audiophille.
and a 20 years old pair of good speakers made in Poland ( that don't have to much bass) they sound close to Yamaha NS 10, but it is now time to change them not because they are not working, but because the bass sounds so different when I play my music on other audio systems.

Thank you very much for your time and help.
